Welcome To On The Avenue Home Decor & Gifts. Years ago my husband and I bought our first home. It was a very old home and needed a lot of tender love and care. I had the vision of what I wanted and my husband was able to help me bring it to life. As we began building and creating items for our home, we had another idea..... What if we started our own business and offered our creations to others who share the same love and passion for decorating as we do. Here we are, 17 years later, sharing our creations and designs with friends everywhere.

Good Morning Friends!!!
What a great Labor Day weekend.  We didn't go camping or anything like that, but it was fun to have another three day weekend.  My boys went bird hunting while Chloee and I slept in.....  I definitely think Chloee and I were the lucky ones!!!

Ok, so I have a funny story to share with all of you about my sweet Grandma and Grandpa Pearce.  (My dad's parents).  They are so cute and truly make us laugh all the time.  They love each other and interact with each other so cute!  Almost a month ago, they sat down for lunch.  My grandpa tried to grab a potato chip before they said the prayer on the food.  My  grandma couldn't stand for that, so she slapped his hand (with all the love in the world).  My grandpa pulled his hand back so quickly that he tipped off the chair and landed on the floor.  His shoulder was a little sore, but after getting back on his chair they finished their lunch, Grandma went in for a nap and Grandpa watched TV in his lazy boy chair.  After a short time, my grandpa was in severe pain.  His lower hip was hurting badly and he was unable to get out of the chair.  To make a long story short, my grandpa ended up taking a fun ride in the ambulance with a big lump on the upper side of his leg (as you can tell, I am not a Dr., so you are getting my uneducated wording on his condition) near his hip.  A blood vessel had broken and the blood had settled in that spot.  After spending several days in ICU, he was moved to a regular room and then to a rehab center.  It has been a long three weeks and he is very anxious  to return home this week and be with my grandma.  My mom and I made a quick trip to see him this past Saturday morning and it was so much fun.  He truly is one of the sweetest men I have ever known.  I am so blessed to call him Grandpa.  I love my grandparents so much!  I am so blessed to have both sets of grandparents here on this earth with us still. That was the highlight of my week
(well and the shopping spree my mom and I went on)
